चन्द्रिका
Chandrikā is an alternative artist hailing from Adelaide, South Australia.
Chandrikā began her career performing as the one-man, or rather, child-house-band for venues such as her bedroom, atop the bed stage. Known for her unique sound produced by using a Hi-5 microphone, she would perform Cat Stevens covers for her large audiences of teddy bears and plush toys from the ripe age of 4.
At 16 she decided that she would abandon the soul crushing idea of having a normal, boring 9-5 job, mortgage and family life. Chandrikā decided to drop out of school to study music full time and heed her calling - to become a struggling artist.
After becoming debilitated by critical illness at 17, Chandrikā was forced to take a hiatus from her music career and do some intense character building.
It was during these formative years that Chandrikā had a spiritual awakening and travelled to India to deepen her spiritual practice, learning esoteric spiritual philosophy which has become a theme in Chandrikā's self aware and authentic songwriting.
